Top 10 Ice Hockey Movies

I love watching Ice Hockey Movies, it gives me more motivation :D, alot of ice hockey fans always looking for ice hockey movies, i collected a punch of movies here with their description and Rating from IMDB, looking forward your reviews about any of these movies:





1) Les Boys - 1997- Rating 6.8/10 :


Ever wanted to know what guys say when they get together? This light- hearted comedy explores the male world through an amateur hockey team. Every male stereotype is analyzed, comically of course. Written by Steve Richer




2) The Love Guru- 2008- Rating 3.9/10 :
Pitka an American raised outside of his country by gurus, returns to the States in order to break into the self-help business. His first challenge: To settle the romantic troubles and subsequent professional skid of a star hockey player whose wife left him for a rival athlete.





3)The Mighty Ducks- 1992- Rating 5.9/10 :
Gordon Bombay, a hotshot lawyer, is haunted by memories of his childhood, when, as the star player in his champion hockey team, he lost the winning goal in a shootout, thereby losing the game, and the approval of his coach. After being charged for drunk driving, the court orders him to coach a peewee hockey team, the worst in the league, Gordon is at first very reluctant. However, he eventually gains the respect of the kids and teaches them how to win, gaining a sponsor on the way and giving the team the name of The Ducks. In the finals, they face Gordon's old team, coached by Gordon's old coach, giving Gordon a chance to face old ghosts. Written by Liz Jordan

Miracle tells the true story of Herb Brooks (Russell), the player-turned-coach who led the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team to victory over the seemingly invincible Russian squad.





5)MVP: Most Valuable Primate -2000- Rating 3.2/10 :
Jack is a three-year-old chimpanzee who has been the subject of a long-term experiment by Dr. Kendall, a researcher who been teaching Jack to communicate through sign language. Jack, however, has not been making progress fast enough for Dr. Kendall's sponsor, Dr. Peabody, who has cut off his funding and sold Jack to a medical research lab. Afraid of what could happen to his simian friend, Dr. Kendall sneaks Jack out of his home in the lab; however, Jack is accidentally sent to Canada, where he gets loose and is discovered by Tara, a deaf girl who recognizes Jack's sign language. Jack has an even bigger surprise for Tara's older brother Steven; Jack scrambles onto the ice in the midst of practice for Steven's junior league hockey team, and he and his teammates discover the monkey has a natural talent for the game. With Jack on the team, Steven's team is on their way to a league championship, but Jack's notoriety attracts the unfortunate attention of Dr. Peabody, who are determined to send Jack back to his new owners.

7)The Rocket: Legend of Rocket Richard -2005- Rating  7.8/10 :
A story about Quebec's most famous hockey player, Maurice "The Rocket" Richard, focusing on the struggles of a French Canadian in the National Hockey League dominated by Anglophones.






8) Slap Shot 2: Breaking the Ice -2002-  Rating 4.3/10 :

With the original Hanson Brothers still on the same minor league ice hockey team, the Chiefs are sold to a new owner who gives them a female coach and puts them in a league in which they are to be regularly humiliated by an opposing Harlem Globetrotters-like team. Written by Damaris







9)Waking Up Wally: The Walter Gretzky Story -2005- Rating 6.7/10 :
As a coach and mentor, Walter Gretzky was instrumental in nurturing the talent of his son, hockey great Wayne Gretzky. So it came as an ironic tragedy when in 1991, just days after his 53rd birthday, Walter suffered a debilitating stroke that left him with no memory of his son's hockey career or his own role in Wayne's achievements. Based on the memoir WALTER GRETZKY: ON FAMILY, HOCKEY AND HEALING, the Canadian film WAKING UP WALLY dramatizes Walter's (Tom McManus) struggle to reconnect with Wayne (Kristen Holden-Ried) for a heartwarming affirmation of the bonds of family and father-son relationships.





10)Sudden Death -1995- Rating 5.3/10 :
A disgraced former fireman takes on a group of terrorists holding the Vice President and others hostage during the seventh game of the NHL Stanley Cup finals.
